A Grand time to be United!

I had the pleasure of seeing Ryan Giggs score Manchester United's second goal last Saturday and he took it well, after twenty two seasons of playing for the Red Devils he doesn't need the practise! The Welshman is now thirty nine years old and playing as good as he did fifteen years ago. In those twenty two seasons he has scored in each of them; a record I can't see being broken.  So while most footballers are retired by thirty nine, with the exception of goalkeepers, Giggsy has signed a one year extension so will play at the grand old age of forty in the best league in the world.  The one club man is a shining example to all young players of how to keep fit. He himself admits he has been lucky with injuries but that is helped by having such a good squad of players around him so he can 'rest'.  It makes sense for the Manchester giants to sign him up again; they know what they are getting and he is adored at Old Trafford. He already has the 'legendary' status at the theatre of dreams alongside the greats of Law, Best and Charlton.

Sir Alex Ferguson may play him this weekend and if he does it will be appearance number one thousand! That in itself is just pure class.
I can't see why he shouldn't play on for even two or three years? His body will tell him when.
I bet there will be a few players that will be glad to see the back of him; the way he makes them look he might as well give them a kick in the balls.
