Could Derry be Leeds silver lining?

Sleeping giants Leeds United are looking for a new Manager after Neil Warnock failed to gain promotion with the Yorkshire club; something he is well known for with his previous clubs.
Names that are thought to be in the hat are Brian McDermott and Martin O'Neill as well as Owen Coyle, all men with Premiership experience. Even Mark Hughes, who replaced Warnock at Queens Park Rangers, is in the betting.
But what if the Leeds board go down the road of an untried man in charge?

A former player at Elland Road that they might turn to is QPR's Shaun Derry. The veteran midfielder isn't really featuring in Harry Redknapp's plans and with the Loftus Road club in a relegation battle it seems he may be surplus to requirements.
Everytime the silver haired midfielder is asked about his career he has nothing but praise for his former employers. So selling the club to him won't be a problem.
It's thought Warnock tried to sign the tough tackling midfielder but Derry still felt he had enough for the Premiership.
The chance to revive a club he obviously holds in fond affection may be too much to turn down but he'd want it as a player Manager.
The kind of player he is would be the kind of Manager he'd make; he'd take no rubbish and wouldn't think twice about a good kick in the balls.
