England and Arsenal's future is Chamber-made

Arsene Wenger may not have won silverware for a few years but there is no denying the Arsenal boss has a great eye for young talent. In August 2011 he signed a seventeen year old from Southampton that has both a great future at club level as well as international level.

In less than two years, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has become a household name and yet he seems a young man with his feet firmly on the ground. As his reputation has grown he has had to take more phyical punishment on the field; again at club and country level. The young man from Portsmouth just dusts himself off and gets on with it.

A major help is that his father was also a footballer who also was good enough to represent his country. Mark Chamberlain was also a winger but, with respect, I think his son is a better all round player!

The Arsenal Manager is building a young squad that will, I'm sure, challenge for major honours next season and I can see Alex Oxlade Chamberlain as a huge part of that team alongside international team mate Theo Walcott.

I just hope that England Manager Roy Hodgson buys into the Arsenal plan and gives the winger a few more starts. Like most modern players he is not restricted to just one position but I feel playing him on either wing is where he creates the most danger. Don't get me wrong, if he was asked to play centre forward he could and would do it!

He likes a good challenge and is hard to shake off either with the ball or without! Just watching him play you can see the enjoyment in his face; Arsenal and England have that to look forward to for a long time to come.
