How long will Sir Alex Ferguson keep going?
He is the most successful Manager in the Premiership and the longest serving. His achievements would take up the whole article and yet if rumours are to be believed if his side hadn't won the FA Cup then football history would have changed.
With a twelve point gap between his side and second placed neighbours Manchester City you'd think football's elder statesman would relax; far from it!
The man from Scotland is as energetic now as he was the day he went into management if not more!
So what keeps the man going?
It can't be money as he is wealthy enough plus he has his racehorses.
The thing that keeps him going is he loves a challenge and he's a winner.
Many forget that before the ‘theatre of dreams’ came calling he had success in his native Scotland with Aberdeen; in Europe as well as domestic competition.
His finest moment must have been the comeback against Bayern Munich in nineteen ninety nine after losing the game until the last three minutes when they scored two. Danish keeper Schmeichel doing a hand stand!
The thing that has to be admired is the players he's coached and made them global superstars.
Who can forget Eric Cantona, both for his skill and his kung fu kick which got equal coverage. Most Managers would have offloaded the player but the canny Scotsman knows a great player when he sees it and handled it all well.
He got Roy Keane to believe in Roy Keane!
Lee Shape and the 'Shape shuffle', Steve Bruce and Gary Pallister. The Neville Brothers and of course Beckham and Giggs.
Every single player praises Sir Alex and rightly so. But just how long can, or indeed does he want to carry on for?
He'll have one more crack at trying to win the Champions League and with his passion for the game and his desire to succeed only a fool would say he can't.
When Sir Alex Ferguson does leave his post it will be football that gets a kick in the balls.
