The best left back in the Premiership

We call it the position left back but they are known as full backs or even wing backs in the modern game. They are expected to bomb up and down the wing for ninety minutes and in some cases be in two places at once!
Ashley Cole has made the position in the England team his own. His passing is precise and rarely he'll give it away. Sometimes his 'off the field' antics get more headlines than his contribution on the field! He's not afraid of a good challenge and is firm.

The man that's challenging him for the Three Lion’s shirt is Leighton Baines. Just like Cole the Everton man likes a good challenge. The big difference is Baines can take quality free kicks. He is also slightly more attacking!

Patrice Evra is having a great season despite the referee wrongly sending him off in the Champions League against Real Madrid. He has a great turn of pace that catches many players out. A future Old Trafford Captain on a permanent basis!
Tottenham are having a great season under AVB, as a team they are playing some wonderful football. Assou-Ekotto is a big part of that and has made the left back position his own. Maybe not as attack minded as the others but remember they are defenders first and foremost.
Enrique of Liverpool is another who is more defence minded but when he lets fly with his left foot goalkeepers know about it! Just like Evra, Enrique could take the Captains armband at Anfield one day.
Glichy of Manchester City goes largely unnoticed in the team and that is meant in a good way! The former Gunner gets on with his job and does it effectively. Alongside Kompany he makes the blues defence hard to break down.
The quality of left backs in the Premiership is high and if forced to pick one it would be Patrice Evra. As mentioned earlier his turn of pace when he puts his boosters on is frightening. He's a player that isn't scared to give you a kick in the balls.
