The Legend that is Bobby Moore
He is without doubt the greatest Captain England have ever had! Add to that he is the only England football Captain to win the World Cup and that seals his legendary status.
Bobby Moore was everything you wanted as a player. He was a tough tackler, a ball winner, a good passer but most of all a great leader! He was looked up to from both adults and children alike. One of the best role models that ever lived.
Bobby Moore was West Ham through and through and tonight they will celebrate the anniversary of his passing with some very special events. Three of his Grandchildren will lead out the sides as well as former teammates being there. There will be a very special mosaic of his number six shirt as well as other events.
Sadly for football the likes of Bobby Moore type players are a thing of the past. When the likes of Pele calls you the best defender in the world you take note; typcally Bobby didn't take any credit and put it down to the team. That was Bobby Moore, a complete football Gentleman.
I find it hard to believe he left this mortal coil twenty years ago to cancer. Money raised tonight will go to his cancer fund.
When England's greatest ever Captain passed away it was football that got a kick in the balls.
