The Premiership could be won or lost in January.‏

After another weekend of football in the top flight and yet again top teams are getting beaten by sides not as high in the table and it's not a surprise! The great thing is no side is running away with it; a level playing field in many ways.
In the old days Managers just went to the chairman and asked to buy a player to help the team push on; it's great they can't do that now. Teams have to dig deeper and it's the team that really want it that gets the points.
For the first time in years the title race is wide open; putting a winning run together of even three or four games and you shoot up the table.
Not many fans would have thought Sunderland would claim all three points against a Manchester City that scored seven last week and the team they beat, Norwich, got a win against West Ham.
Bookmakers must be as confused as the rest of us and they are normally spot on!
Alan Pardew's side made a bad start to the season but at White Hart Lane picked up all the points thanks to goalscorer Loic Remy and world class saves from man of the match, Dutch goalkeeper Tim Kurl.
Arsenal's five point lead at the top was cut to two after losing at Old Trafford to a Robin Van Persie goal; Liverpool scored four as they beat Fulham.
Southampton sit in third, just three points behind the leaders after beating Hull City who have adjusted well to life back at the top table.
Everton seem to be taking points every week while Chelsea rode their luck with a point at home to West Bromwich Albion.
It's great it's not a 'two horse race', that can get repetitive and unless it's your team involved, boring!

So in January the transfer window opens and this season, unlike any other season, could be the difference between winning the Premier League depending on who they buy or sell or even who they buy or sell to!
The twenty five man squad also comes into play; if you buy someone then someone has to be left out. This is another reason why Managers get paid big money!
One signing could make or break a team's season and it's not always for the good. The new player might take time to settle in, it might be a brand new country as well as a brand new side.
I'm sure every Manager already has given a list or even just one name to the board of directors or owner; it really could be crucial if the player or players sign.
Half way through the season and a new player could give the team such a lift and the Manager is hailed a genius; but if it doesn't work they should be sacked!
With David Moyes taking over at Manchester United, Jose Mourinho returning to Chelsea and Roberto Martinez at Everton, the Premier League is wide open and in January either keeping or signing a player might just win the league.
At the other end of the table it could be just the same. The Premiership hasn't been this good for years and long may it continue!
