What is Phil Jones' best position?

It's a great testament to Sir Alex Ferguson's scouting team that back in two thousand and eleven he paid around seventeen million pounds for a player I'll admit I didn't know an awful lot about. Phil Jones was just nineteen when he signed for Manchester United just two years ago. But what a wonderful couple of years it has been. He has a fire in his belly when he gets on a football field and there isn't a better team player in the Premiership. David Moyes must love working with him; one of the peaks of taking over from the Old Trafford legend.

Having such a versitile player can make such a difference tactically or if you're forced to reshape due to an injury. He is just as much at home in defence as he is in midfield; but what is his best position?

His long term future must be as a centre back; his ariel abillity and his tackling are the best parts of his game. Every header and every ball he goes for he does with one hundred percent commitment; it's what every football fan wants to see.

Johnny Evans and Phil Jones could become the new Bruce and Pallister if they are given the chance.

                 Will Spain be a pain?

Real Sociedad haven't registered a point in the Champions League but don't let that lull you into a false sense of security; they are still a very good side. If you add to that United haven't won away since beating Braga last November so an away win is due.

Wayne Rooney is starting to hit form again but it's worries in the back line with Moyes having to leave Rafael, Jonny Evans and midfielder Michael Carrick at home.

The Red Devils will fly to San Sebastian confident, unbeaten in the last seven games & having lost just one of the last six fixtures on Spanish soil. If they can score the early goal they can take control of the game and win by two or three goals.

'Moyes’ side have done exceedingly well in Europe so far and are occupying the top of the Group A table with 7 points. An own goal from Inigo Martinez in the last round saw Utd winning by a slender 1-0 margin against Sociedad, who are yet to earn a point so far in their European campaign.

Real Sociedad on the other hand are lying on 7th place in La Liga with 17 points. Last season, they earned a heroic top four finish, edging Valencia for the Champions League spot. This season the story has been slightly different though, but they are heading into this match on the back of a 5-0 moral boosting victory against Osasuna.'

It makes me laugh that some football fans are saying David Moyes isn't up for the job at Old Trafford; he has enormous boots to fill and he will take time to get used to the job at one of the biggest football clubs in the world.

He was a big success at Everton but give him time and I'm sure he'll carry on bringing silverware to the theatre of dreams. Fans need to remember, 'Rome wasn't built in a day,'
